Ryslig Battle Royale
You're here to be punished. Don't bother asking why, you know exactly what you did.
Your character, now human, will awaken on the floor of a dirty classroom alongside an assortment of other similarly dazed and confused individuals, and surrounded by military personnel. They will notice that everyone on this side of the room has been fitted with some sort of 'high tech' collar that cannot be removed. The contestants are told that the collars monitor and record their locations, heart rate and voices. They are waterproof, shockproof, and overall cannot be removed! If an attempt at removal is made, it will set off a small explosive within the device that will kill the wearer. It may also be set off if they leave the perimeter of the island, attempt to attack any personnel, or are overheard speaking of breaking any rules. :) (Maybe you can find a way to block the microphone?)
After being informed that there will only be one survivor and winner of the battle royale, your character will be given a duffel bag with three days' worth of rations, MRE's, water bottles, a miniature first aid kit and a weapon! The weapons will be randomized from the list at the bottom!
Your character will then be released from the school into the "wilderness" of the island, which appears to have been previously inhabited but seems to have become deserted overnight. There are dilapidated homes and businesses, cars abandoned on empty streets, and "camps" set up by the previous year's contestants. The homes were once lived in, food left on tables and perhaps even filling the pantries (outdated by almost a decade, but hey you never know!) Businesses and stores may hold useful tools and supplies, but they have been raided by previous years contestants, so options are limited. You may take liberties with the locations you choose for fights, camps and finding supplies.
Any weapons and supplies left over by fallen contestants may be taken by the winners, but the likelihood of finding any actual weapons (swords, guns, etc) in the field is pretty low. Random household items that could be used as weapons are still viable, though!
Information for the Alternate Ending
There are ways to remove the collars. It would take a skilled hand with ridiculously small tools or perhaps an EMP... but you can get creative, too!
Once you make your way back to the school, you will find the building has been repurposed as a military base. The soldiers inhabit the classrooms as dorms, while other rooms have been converted into an armory containing an assortment of weaponry and ammunition. The cafeteria is stocked with fresh food, and the courtyard is littered with scrap metal, gutted cars and altered weaponry in various states of completion, and a makeshift mechanic's shop has been set up amidst the scrap with a tin roof and a swath of tools and half-finished projects. The gym has been converted into a garage with two armored fighting vehicles and two electronic warfare vehicles, all with full tanks lined up across the basketball court. A small speedboat is secured to the back of one of the armored vehicles. Curious.
The masterminds have set up shop in the administration offices, which are lined with ceiling-to-floor surveillance monitors which seem to show almost every inch of the island. Some show the inside of homes and businesses, some show empty streets, while others appear to be set up in trees, showing pathways through the dense forest. A computer with a multi-monitor setup sits on a large oak desk that probably coordinated with the rest of the furniture before someone took black and white spray paint to everything...

Cassandra isn't going to go looking for a fight and would probably be more interested in just finding a way out/finding a way to get at the folks running this nightmare. BUT, she absolutely will fight to kill if someone attacks her first, and she is well-trained in both fighter-y and rogue-y shit, so I'm totally fine with them kinda stumbling into a fight and things getting out of control there. If it happens later in the day, she probably would've found something sharp and stabby in one of the houses to defend herself more properly with, buuuut she would also try and use the flare gun bc OH HEY THIS LOOKS LIKE PERCY'S WEIRD WEAPONS MAYBE IT WORKS LIKE THAT-
... That being said, in the end she's also a late teens/early 20's young lady who hasn't really been out of her home city. If it's a drawn-out fight she can definitely be overpowered and killed.

He's also going to be feeling pretty reluctant to fight and kill anyone else at the moment, which can also factor in. A little bad luck, a bit of holding back... and he can definitely be caught off guard. He'll pretty much go and find some random abandoned camp which he can try and defend. So yep, he'd be purposefully shooting in self defense only, aiming only to wound and/or may have terrible aim and miss. I'm totally up for figuring out anything as far as how his death plays out!

my immediate reaction is wow if this were really a movie then i bet he'd do that thing where he volunteers himself for the riskiest part of the plan since he's on his way out anyway
his brainwashed role up to this point is/was "school jock who goes alpha male and actively hunts everyone else down for that w" and he can either shake some of that off or stay immersed. it could work either way, because i think the dickish character would still want to go out like a boss, whereas steve himself is the kind of person who will always take one for the team/generally and genuinely wants to protect people

Sorry for the delay first off, I work in food prep for party trays and the like so Easter has been Wild.

Jonathan I'm having play out as a character relatively in line with who he actually is- so right out the gates he's not going to really be seeing any reason beyond the movie role- and he'll be someone a little more Willing to fight, and (hah) unfortunately still have his ~Victorian Sensibilities~ where they can be applied to the idea of a giant buff nerd.
Which means that, while Ryslig Jonathan has long since gotten over the idea of (GASP) WOMEN FIGHTING... (I am so sorry, Cassandra)
He is absolutely going to 'start' off by immediately saying that he doesn't want to fight a woman. Good...Good job JoJo, I'm sure that will go great.
In any case, I'm pretty open to her finding other weapons to better defend herself with, and honestly down for...quite a lot of damage coming Jonathan's way- I prefer to leave most of the choice in the hands of the one whose character is going to be on the losing end, partly because the one who will know most about what it would take to get there is...well, that player. Plus, this is the first round, Cass deserves more time to show off!
In terms of a drawn out fight in this case that....is plenty plausible, Jonathan slogs through some serious injury in JJBA, and he's going to still have that stamina by virtue of just. Well. Being built like a truck.

Cassandra isn't a super trusting person right off the bat, so if it's a situation where they stumble into each other that could possibly be mistaken as "oh hey have you been FOLLOWING me", the idea of him pushing "hey i don't wanna fight a girl" would honestly just make her even more suspicious. Try to get her guard down??? She'll strike first!
Despite not having a ton of practical fighting experience up until pretty recently, Cass is a pretty quick, efficient fighter; go for the vitals, cut off any advantages (like... stabbing a mage in the throat to cut off her verbal spellcasting...), so she'd definitely be aiming for the neck, arms, chest, etc. Since he's making it to the finale I imagine nothing that would conceivably cause enough blood loss to kill him, so maybe just. Cutting him up a bit and getting one of his shoulders enough to make using one arm a bit difficult.
Also i can't imagine getting shot with a flare gun would be good even if it probably wouldn't KILL someone lmaoooo. It's totally up to you on that one if you want it to hit or miss, but Cass WILL try and use it since she's seen the kind of damage guns can do, even if she doesn't understand the function of this one.

Perfect, okay so we definitely have a good start going then. In terms of where to aim...if she goes for the neck or chest, obviously he's going to be trying to protect himself there- probably with his arms. Sadly for Cass, this is a guy who...canonically took a sawblade to the arm deep enough to hit bone, and for that matter grabbed a knife by the blade to stop it, fingers be darned, so it would indeed take a good amount of stabbing and repeating to significantly wind him down.
Hard agree on the flare gun though- at the very least if it didn't burn him, that's a really good way for Cass to blind him; multiple times even, her flare gun has a few shots right? Jonathan, well.
Jonathan has shuriken. Which he's putting on his fingers because he....doesn't know what they are. He's doing his best there.
A first shot doing little more than a small burn but doing a successful *blind* is a great way to get that first significant stab in though so I say go for it!

As for how he would die...Hmm...Maybe while he's swinging around in the dark, he trips and lands on his scythe, killing him? What ideas do you have?

djskadhksaj wow. What a weirdo!! Sonic will do his best to avoid his attacks but him falling on it in his eagerness to slash a sonc works well for me! He will be trying to convince Gene that this is NOT REAL and to NOT KILL HIM PLEASE the whole time. How do you guys not see how hokey this is???
